Yonkers police search for suspects who robbed check cashing store
Yonkers police are on the lookout for two men they believe robbed a check cashing store.
Shoppers trying to take out cash for last-minute holiday purchases found their check-cashing store closed Saturday morning. Police say shortly before 9 a.m. two men entered the Winks Check Cashing store on South Broadway. Authorities say at least one of the men was armed with a handgun and forced a female employee to the floor. It?s unclear if the men made off with any money.
This incident comes on the heels of three armed bank robberies in Westchester this month. Police say there appears to be no connection between Saturday?s incident and the other bank robberies, but they are not ruling anything out.
