Yorktown's garbage hauler could be fined soon if it does not pick up trash left on the sidewalks.
Supervisor Tom Diana sent a notice to Competitive Carting Corporation saying they will be fined $1,500 each day and their contract with the town will be terminated if the garbage disruption is not resolved.
He said this is the second major issue since they began serving Yorktown in January.
Diana added that the company promised to pick up the trash by Saturday and service should return to normal on Monday.
