Tom Zugibe took over the reigns at the Rockland County District Attorney?s Office Tuesday.
Zugibe defeated longtime incumbent Michael Bongiorno in November. Bongiorno held the DA position for 12 years before he was narrowly defeated.
?It?s an incredible feeling. I just feel so much pride and [am] honored to be serving the people of Rockland in this manner,? Zugibe said in his inauguration speech.
Zugibe said he has plans to make Rockland a safer place.
Meanwhile, seven new assistant prosecutors were also sworn in to complete the 32-member team that will assist Zugibe.
