Nassau County police arrested a Copiague man for alleged unlawful surveillance in a Rockville Centre massage therapy room.

Police arrested on Friday afternoon Luke Unneland, the owner of Kokoro Wellness at 78 North Village Ave., after a 32-year-old female noticed what appeared to be a recording device on a wall inside the massage therapy room, according to investigators.

Detectives say it was determined that three additional people were also victims after an extensive investigation.

The investigation also revealed that illegal massages were also being conducted at the location, according to police. Daniela Cespedes Almonacid, 35, was arrested without incident and charged with unauthorized practice of a profession.

"I'm angry that people's privacy has been invaded like this and now they have to pay the future consequences of that," said Robert Emmons.

"I'm in shock, especially in this day and age," said Thomas Glynn. "Right across the street from two of the biggest churches in the village. What they're doing is totally, totally unacceptable. I don't want my grandchildren growing up to think that's normal."

Police say that further investigation revealed that Almonacid is illegally in the United States and U.S. immigration Customs Enforcement agents took her into custody.

"These types of places, I feel, are popping up all over Long Island," said Christopher Vivano. "This is not the first time I've heard this story. So, try and be careful about what gym you go to."

According to online court records, Unneland pleaded not guilty and was released on Saturday.

His next court hearing is June 2.

Detectives ask anyone who believes they may have been a victim to contact Nassau Police at 516-573-6153 and that all callers will remain anonymous.
