A martial arts instructor from Allerton has won the Brazilian jiu-jitsu world championship.

Doug Pelinkovic runs the Bronx Martial Arts Academy and says he has practiced for more than three decades.

At 50 years old, Pelinkovic says he knew mentally he could compete in the world championships but he wasn't sure if he was physically able to do it.

Pelinkovic says he will continue to take on new challenges regardless of his age.
