Firefighters in Greenville are working to raise money for a companion dog for a veteran or first responder.

The effort is in honor of the late Westchester County firefighter Vito Sciavillo.

The department is teaming up with Guardian Revival to raise the money needed. The dog will then be raised, trained and named in honor of Vito, who died in August of 2022.

Vito was a friend to all who knew him and lit up any room he entered with positive energy.
