Rep. John Hall was in Goldens Bridge yesterday meeting a family he says will benefit from the newly passed health care bill in Washington.
Hall (D-Dover Plains) says the case of Mike Surdej, who was diagnosed with cancer in 2001, demonstrates the need for health care reform. Surdej says he had to rely on his wife's health insurance to receive cancer treatments because insurance companies denied him coverage.
Hall also added that because of the new health care bill, Surdej and his wife will be able to have their children on their health insurance until they are 26 years old.
