Belmar Seafood Festival returns following 2-year pandemic hiatus

The Belmar Seafood Festival has returned following a two-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The festival began at 4 p.m. Friday and runs from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Tens of thousands of people are expected to attend the event, which features more than 80 vendors from around the country and New Jersey.
Zachary Williams of Clayton's Shrimp Shack says he and other workers drove for 18 hours to get to the festival to serve what he says is some of the best seafood from the South. He says the Belmar Seafood Festival is one of the best ones that they participate in.
Williams also says the local food is delicious, particularly New Jersey pizza.
Rasheed Simmons of Simply Southern says he's excited to return to the festival after two years.
Simmons reminds those that may not like seafood to come to the festival because it offers a variety of dishes like chicken sandwiches, pulled pork and other options.
