You don't see many pontoon boats out on Peconic Bay, but many people will tell you it's their favorite way to be out on the water. News 12's Doug Geed checked out Peconic Water Sports in this week's the East End segment.
People can rent boats all summer long at five locations on the North Fork, South Fork and Shelter Island. The boat club isn't cheap - $8,500 for the season - but it's a lot cheaper than owning a boat.
Peconic Water Sports offers five hours of free instructional coaching. Anything from riding out in the water, tying up at the dock or docking the boat.
And for the more adventurous - you can also rent a boat with a captain for part of the day or all day to do water sports.
