Umbrellas are needed today! Rain totals will be under 1/2 and 1 inch today, but it was a rainy morning across the lower Hudson Valley with periods of light to sometimes briefly moderate rain showers and a few showers can linger into the afternoon.
SOME AFTERNOON IMPROVEMENTS
The afternoon will not be perfect, but it will be much better with the bulk of the showers behind us. Clouds will mix with a few breaks of sun, but there can still be a spotty rain shower at any point through early in the evening as a cold front moves through from the west. Highs will once again be well into the 50s!
HEADING INTO THE WEEKEND
Friday will feel colder, but it will be dry with a mix of sun and clouds. Wind gusts will be a little over 20 mph at times, making high temperatures in the mid-40s feel more like the 30s.
A clipper system will still be mostly passing to the north of the lower Hudson Valley Friday night through Saturday. That said, there can be a couple of mixed showers Friday evening and a few spotty light rain showers on Saturday. Saturday will not be a washout at all with even some breaks of sun and highs back in the 50s.
COLDER WEATHER RETURNS
Plan on dressing very warmly on Sunday and Monday with dry, but much colder weather. Highs will be in the 30s with wind chills in the 20s at best!
FAST RETURN TO ABOVE AVERAGE TEMPERATURES
By Tuesday, temperatures jump back into the upper 40s for highs and 50s again for next Wednesday and Thursday. Tuesday will be dry, but there will be an increasing chance for steady rain later Wednesday and through Thursday. The end of next week looks dry and seasonable next Friday.
