A powerful storm is set to bring heavy snow and gusty winds to Long Island this weekend.
The worst of the storm will be 7 a.m. Saturday to about 7 p.m. with periods of heavy snow and gusty winds, especially for the East End.
Long Islanders were out Friday stocking up on supplies as town crews across Nassau and Suffolk counties are gearing up for the winter storm.
Crews in the Town of Islip kicked off what will be a long 24 to 26 hours with crews pre-treating roads.
Thunderbolt 12 will be out with live looks of the road as soon as the snow hits so Long Islanders can know what to expect.
Drivers are urged to stay off the roads during the storm.
