Local schools are calling for more safety protocols as the country continues to mourn the 19 children and two teachers who lost their lives in Tuesday's deadly shooting.

safety protocols as the country continues to mourn the 19 children
and two teachers who lost their lives in Tuesday's deadly
shooting.
"All we care about is our children being safe,” said Mona Davids of the NYC Safety
Coalition “We would ask Mayor Adams to
one hire more school safety agents, two bring that new technology into every
school building and three also ask Mayor Adams to really take the reins… get stuff done and put more police on the
streets in our communities.”
Davids says that since the start of the year, 24 guns have been found in
NYC schools.
Mayor Eric Adams discussed safety in schools and on
the streets on Wednesday as he highlighted the endless flow of guns across the
city.
The mayor also praised the NYPD for recovering nearly 3,000 guns from
NYC streets alone, including 20 of which were found in schools.
The city’s commander in chief is
calling on parents to work in partnership with them to help save the lives of
children.
