Sen. Kaminsky steps down from state Senate, starting new job in private sector

Sen. Todd Kaminsky has stepped down from the state Senate after serving the South Shore for nearly eight years.
Kaminsky submitted an official letter to Majority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins, saying: "Today is my last day as an elected official, and I will start a new chapter in my life next week in the private sector."
He went on to say that it has been an "incredible honor and privilege" to work for Long Island's South Shore and that he will miss being their voice in Albany.
Kaminsky says he looks forward to spending more time with his family and breathing easier on Election Day.
