Shehan Center hosts free basketball camp for kids with help from UConn's basketball team

The University of Connecticut men's basketball team visited the children at the Cardinal Shehan Center in Bridgeport on Saturday.

The University of Connecticut men's basketball team visited the children at the Cardinal Shehan Center in Bridgeport on Saturday.
It was part of a free basketball camp meant to help teach kids the rudiments of the game, good sportsmanship and the importance of physical education. 
"It brought so much joy to me today to see all these hundred children right at the Cardinal Shehan Center participating in the basketball camp, and the parents were so grateful for this wonderful opportunity,” says Lorraine Gibbons, the executive director of the Cardinal Shehan Center . 
The Cardinal Shehan Center thanked the UConn men's basketball team for volunteering their time. 
“This is unbelievable, this is just the start. We're going to be doing this every month from here on out,” says John Malfettone, the board president of Cardinal Shehan Center.
