New Jersey state officials say that 10 new COVID-19 outbreaks are linked to New Jersey schools, with 32 new positive cases of the virus linked to those outbreaks.

206ds agoNew Jersey state officials say that 10 new COVID-19 outbreaks are linked to New Jersey schools, with 32 new positive cases of the virus linked to those outbreaks.
This brings the total number of outbreaks in schools to 131 – with 629 cases of the virus overall. Bergen County has had 29 outbreaks in schools – the most out of the whole state. There have been 121 positive cases of the virus in the school.
This comes as school districts around the state remain in an all-virtual or hybrid-style learning environment.
State health officials also reported 4,117 new positive COVID-19 tests on Tuesday, along with 133 additional deaths. The rate of transmission is down once again and now stands at .92.
There are 3,251 COVID-19 patients being treated in New Jersey hospitals, with 572 patients in intensive care – a significant drop from Monday. But there are 404 patients on ventilators, up from 390 on Monday.
In terms of vaccinations around the state – officials say that 605,000 doses have been administered – 81,000 of which are second doses. About 9% of the vaccines have been given to people 80 years old and older.
