Yorktown residents rally over reduced wetlands
Some Yorktown residents are speaking out about a law that could impact their environment.
Dozens rallied outside a Town Hall meeting on Tuesday to protest a proposal that would reduce the number of protected wetlands in the town.
They say that would lead to more flooding problems for homeowners. “We want the law to be kept as stringent as it is now, and we want some respect not only for the land but for the citizens; we live here, this is our land," says resident Grace Caporino.
Opponents say the proposal would also endanger wildlife habitats in those areas.
