Officials from the U.S. Postal Service say that an employee at a White Plains post office has tested positive for COVID-19.

There are several post offices in the city, and there is no mention of exactly which location this employee worked from.

The news comes just a week after two White Plains postal employees who work at the Westchester Processing & Distribution Center tested positive for the virus.
Officials from the postal service say they are closely monitoring the situation and are in contact with public health officials as testing continues.
That news prompted officials from the U.S. Postal Service to assure people it's safe to get their mail.
Officials from both the Centers for Disease Control and the World Health Organization say there is currently no evidence that COVID-19 can spread through the mail.
They say there is likely a very low risk of spread from products or packaging that are shipped over a period of days or weeks, and coronaviruses are generally thought to be spread most often by respiratory droplets.
Meantime, postal officials in White Plains say they have plans to maintain service as they continue to work with public health officials.
