The FBI is warning against hackers taking advantage of millions of people now working from home because of the coronavirus pandemic.
In a statement posted on its website Tuesday, the agency urged people to be on the lookout for crooks targeting teleconferencing platforms such as Zoom, as well as online classrooms.

News 12 spoke to a Purchase-based cybersecurity expert who says one of the best ways to protect online conferences is to pay attention to how people are sharing, and where the invitations go.

"Only invite...people that you trust. So if there is a vendor or somebody else that you’ve not interacted with before..I'd be wary of it. You don’t know what kind of security they have on their end," says cybersecurity expert Leonard Galati.

Cyber experts also warn companies not to share the link to a teleconference on a publicly available social media post.
They say a more secure move is to provide the link directly to specific people.
