Popular wine & food festival postponed due to coronavirus outbreak

Westchester Magazine’s 10th Wine & Food Festival has officially been rescheduled for Sept. 22 through 27.
The decision came about when organizers raised concern on whether or not restaurants would be open by June due to the state of the outbreak.
"That was the tough decision and we wrestled with it for a number of weeks…” shared Westchester Magazine’s editor John Turiano. "Restaurants have bigger things on their minds so that's one big reason of course. Another reason of course is we don't know the first week of June what the status of people gathering is going to be."
While it may be a disappointment, former attendees understand it’s for the best.
"By that time hopefully this will all be behind us and then you know, we'll feel more comfortable so I think it's a good idea,” says Natasha Romanello, of Rye Brook.
News 12 is told organizers are thinking of the postponed event as an end of the summer party now, including one night where they'll take over the Rye Playland pier.
Other prominent events include the Burger and Beer Blast and Grand Tasting Village also taking place on Sept. 22 through 27.
Tickets purchased for the anticipated June dates will be honored for the week in September.
