A dramatic video shows the potentially life-saving rescue of a girl in Port Jefferson Village.
Members of the Port Jefferson Fire Department had to break through a 12-inch-thick wall to rescue a young girl who was locked in a dressing room of at Kate & Hale clothing store on Main Street.
Officials say the dressing room area once served as a bank vault.
The girl says her brother locked the door as a prank, not knowing she would not be able to get out.
Crews used air chisels and hammer drills to make the rescue, and once a large enough hole was created, the girl was helped out.
The Terryville Fire Department, Suffolk County police and Port Jefferson EMS also assisted.
The girl was not hurt.
