Diver from Long Island wins Olympic silver in Tokyo

Andrew Capobianco won the silver medal in the synchronized 3-meter springboard competition.

Diver Andrew Capobianco, a Long Island native, won the silver medal in the 3-meter synchronized diving competition.
"All of the tough times and hard work was worth it," he said to News 12 in a statement.

Capabianco's parents shared their pride with News 12's Kevin Maher.
"It's a feeling of unbelievable joy," said father Mike Capobianco.

George Young, Capobianco's diving coach for two years at Wantagh High School, said he knew back then that his student had the makings of a great diver.
"He said, 'I want to be a champion,' and I looked at his dad and went, 'I've got a diamond here,'' says Young.
