A dispute has gone very public in the past week between Cablevision and WABC that could leave Cablevision customers without channel 7 and all of the programming that comes with it.
Cablevision has until Sunday afternoon to hand over $40 million to WABC in what Cablevision ads are calling "a TV tax on Cablevision customers."
WABC President Rebecca Campbell says WABC "can no longer sit back and allow Cablevision to use our shows for free while they continue to charge their customers for them."
Cablevision, the parent company of News 12, previously lost HGTV and The Food Network for several weeks over contract disputes. It has until midnight Saturday reach a deal.
