Governor Pataki gets back to work after surgery
More than a month after his emergency surgery at a Westchester hospital for a ruptured appendix, Governor George Pataki (R-NY) was back on the job in Albany Tuesday.
The governor underwent surgery to remove his appendix at Hudson Valley Hospital Center on February 16. He then suffered complications and was transferred to New York Presbyterian Hospital in Manhattan where he had another surgery on his intestines. Pataki was released on March 6 and has been recuperating at his home in Garrison.
With the state budget deadline less than two weeks away, Pataki and state lawmakers will work to deliver a spending plan on time and on target. There are lawmakers in both the Senate and Assembly looking to spend more than the governor?s $110.6 billion proposed plan in order to give more money to education and health care.
