Hillcrest man drives himself right into trouble
A man lost control of his car Thursday and narrowly missed a house in Hillcrest, but his wild day didn?t end there.
The crash, which occurred around 2 p.m., took out the electrical box to the home. An elderly woman at the Brook Street house was guided to safety by the Hillcrest Fire Department. Orange and Rockland Utilities cut power to the house because gas was leaking from the vehicle.
When police responded, they discovered the driver had an outstanding warrant. Police also say the driver had stolen goods in his vehicle. The driver, who survived the crash without a scratch, was arrested at the scene.
