Jewish families in the Camelot community of New City came together Monday to ring in their new year on a high note. 

The annual Tashlich service happens on the first night of Rosh Hashanah before sunset and allows families to cast away their sins.

For 25 years, families have been gathering to have their Tashlich ceremony at Camelot Lake. They unite to start the new year off on the right foot.

They throw bread into the lake as a symbol of washing away their sins. But they're also asking for forgiveness.

The families say they're asking for forgiveness from their loved ones, the people they may have wronged, harmed or hurt and they also ask for forgiveness for themselves.
