Judge sets $5M bail for boyfriend in Middletown murder-for-hire plot
The judge set a $5 million cash bail for a man accused of orchestrating the brutal murder of his ex-girlfriend in Middletown.
According to police, 42-year-old Patrick Bowie hired 36-year-old Melvin Green to gun down his former girlfriend, Fermina Nunez. Bowie allegedly watched as Nunez, a mother of four, was shot to death in her Middletown hair salon. Police say Bowie paid Green $1,000 for the murder. Green pleaded not guilty to first and second-degree murder charges at his arraignment Thursday.
Nunez?s family members say they are pleased the judge sent Bowie back to Orange County Jail with a $5 million cash bail or $20 million bond. Bowie pleaded not guilty to the charges of murder.
