Shoppers who frequent local drugstores should start double-checking the expiration dates on their products.
In a report, New York Attorney General Andrew Cuomo cited more than 24 CVS and Rite Aid stores in Rockland and Orange counties for selling expired food and medicine.
One New City CVS is accused of selling expired cold medicine and the Rite Aid down the street is accused of selling expired baby formula. Other expired products found in the stores include milk and eggs.
Local shoppers are angered and worried by the new findings. ?To have expired products just because they want to sell it is pretty much disgusting to me,? New City resident Barbara Kamali says.
Cuomo plans to take legal action against the stores. In the meantime, shoppers are advised to pay extra attention to the expiration dates on the products they buy and to check with their pharmacists.
