A local serviceman received a special gift just in time for the holidays.
Army specialist Edwin Sierra and his family were the guests of honor at the Stamford Elks Lodge.
Sierra was one of two servicemen who received a free flight home from money raised at the lodge.
Sierra has served in Iraq and is currently stationed in Tennessee.
He says he wouldn't have made it home without the support of the lodge.
"I have no words," Sierra says. "It's truly amazing what they did for me. Honestly, it really means a lot so I'm really appreciative of what they've done for me and really glad that I got this opportunity."
The lodge had some money leftover which will be used for Christmas gifts for the soldiers.
