A new World War II art exhibit called "The Ghost Army" is now on display at the Historical Society of Rockland County.The exhibition was created by some local veterans who were part of a secret division called "The Ghost Army." Members of the group were trained to make fake tanks, trucks and artillery to deceive the enemy."When you saw it from the sky, you didn't know they were just burlap and sapling trees," says veteran Ned Harris, 86, of New City. In their spare time, the artists in the 603rd Division painted, drew and documented what they saw. Their work has survived and is now on display in New City.It is believed every soldier in the "Ghost Army" returned home.The exhibit runs through October at the Historical Society of Rockland County.The Historical Society of Rockland County
