Bridgeport police said Friday that a News 12 Connecticut viewer has helped them identify and arrest an armed robbery suspect who allegedly targeted a victim on Facebook.
They say 24-year-old Aurang Zeb, of Pakistan, is thanking Bridgeport police today for arresting the man who allegedly held him up at gunpoint on Anson Street on April 14.
Police have charged 19-year-old Nazarie Jackson, of Bridgeport, with armed robbery after they say he lured Zeb to a location by running a bogus ad on Facebook for a new iPhone, asking only $250 for the $1,000 device.
As News 12 reported, Zeb, who admits he was being "a naïve tourist,” says he fell for the scam and was robbed of $350 in cash and his new Apple watch.
After the story aired, a News 12 Connecticut viewer sent in surveillance pictures of a car parked on Anson Street at the time of the robbery. News 12 handed those images over to police, and investigators say they led them to the suspect.

Police say Jackson is being held on a $75,000 bond and is due back in court later this month.
