An artistic inspired column will display quotes from community members in Norwood.
The 11-foot column will be constructed at the intersection near the Jerome Gun Hill Business Improvement District as part of the Department of Transportation's art Program.
Brooklyn artist Jenny Hung came up with the idea for the sculpture from using different typefaces she saw local businesses using.
Jennifer Tausig of Jerome Gun Hill BID says the column will feature colorful tiles displaying quotes of community members.
Tausig says the tiles will be switched out every 8 weeks and replaced with new quotes.
Organizers are asking community members to contribute quotes. They say you should draw inspiration from your favorite places in Norwood or reflect on your own story and how you ended up in the Bronx.
She says a good quote might tell a story or a memory of an event, gathering or party you attended in Norwood.
The Jerome Gun Hill BID is accepting quotes on their Facebook page, or they can be emailed directly to them.
The column is expected to be constructed in June.
