Police are searching for whoever is responsible for what they say was a “biased-related hate crime“ last week on Gibson Road in the Town of Goshen.
News 12 was alerted to the incident after the homeowner posted about her fence being spray painted with hateful words on Facebook. When we reached out for information, the homeowner said they believe they were victimized because of a Ukrainian flag they have outside of their house.
“You feel like you’re under attack or something because I really don’t understand why somebody could call us an awful name like that and it hurts,” says Alla Litvinoff.
Litvinoff says she’s been in the United States for 25-years and has never experienced anything like this.
Town of Goshen Police Chief James Post called the incident “unacceptable behavior. “
Anyone with information about the crime is asked to email police at info@townofgoshenpolice.org.
