Police say several suspects in a white BMW led Hempstead police on a chase that ended in Valley Stream.

Police tell News 12 the suspects ditched the car on Primrose Avenue in Valley Stream and ran off in different directions. Multiple police departments responded to the incident.

News 12 is told that at some point during the pursuit, one of the suspects suffered a gunshot wound to the back and ran into the village of Malverne.

Malverne police say they received 911 calls from residents reporting that a man said he was shot and needed help. Police arrested all of the suspects involved.

The wounded suspect was taken to the hospital. It was not immediately clear how the man was shot or what led to the pursuit.
