Schools across the Hudson Valley are closing amid the coronavirus outbreak.
Orange County Executive Steve Neuhaus announced they are renewing the state of emergency to include closing all schools in the area, both public and private.

Westchester schools will close by Wednesday. On Monday, Westchester County Executive George Latimer plans to announce a state of emergency and close all 44 school districts in the county.
"It would be in effect for the school districts as of Wednesday. Most of the school districts are closed on Monday and Tuesday and that gives us functionally today, tomorrow, and Tuesday to put in place the child care and the lunch for the needy children," said Latimer.

He's also considering to use the County Center as another coronavirus testing site as. Latimer may also turn the former Doral Arrowood in Rye Book and the closed Esplanade senior residents in White Plains as isolation centers.

In Orange County, Neuhaus said that because of the school closings, many staff may have to stay home to be with their children, so the county is evaluating what staffing will remain a necessity.
He said that the emergency operation center in Goshen is staffed with additional people to help with calls.
