A vigil was held Friday night for the 18-year-old woman who was fatally shot while walking with her 9-year-old sister in Yonkers.

A vigil was held Friday night for the 18-year-old woman who was fatally shot while walking with her 9-year-old sister in Yonkers.
Marilyn Cotto Montanez was shot on Morningside and Lake avenues Thursday evening. Police say two different groups of individuals got into an altercation, prompting someone to display a firearm.
They say one shot was fired, hitting Montanez in the head. She later died in the hospital.
Police believe she was not the intended target.
News 12 is told the victim lived in the area and was seen going to work. Montanez was due to graduate from Lincoln High School in June.
Yonkers police have not made any arrests in the shooting. Anyone with information is asked to call police.
