Woman makes special delivery in hospital parking lot
A new bundle of joy couldn?t wait for his mom to get into Nyack Hospital before he made his big arrival Friday.
Twenty-seven-year-old Makerita Misilagi, of Stony Point, gave birth about 25 feet from the hospital while sitting in the passenger seat of her car. Misilagi says she was trying to make it into the emergency room, but felt the baby coming and got back in her car.
At that point, security guard Albert Rosa spotted what was quickly unfolding. Rosa jumped into action and helped deliver the baby boy. Immediately after the baby was born, a physician?s assistant and an emergency room nurse rushed out to the parking lot to help.
Both mother and baby are healthy and doing fine. Misilagi says she has a special security guard to thank for her special delivery.
