Police are investigating a shooting that left one person dead in Newburgh, becoming one of fours violent incidents that happened Thursday night.
According to authorities, 20-year-old Jerome Scarlett was gunned down on Farrington Street shortly after 10 p.m. He was rushed to St. Luke's Hospital, where he was pronounced dead from a gunshot wound to the torso.
So far, police say they have no suspects. They are investigating whether the shooting was gang-related.
In three unrelated incidents, police say a man was shot in the knee during a robbery on Fullerton Avenue, another man was assaulted on Washington Street and another was beaten and robbed.
