Multiple fire departments responded after reports of an MRI machine malfunction in Hawthorne Tuesday. The Valhalla Fire Department shared a photo on social media after a report of an explosion at Bradhurst Avenue. The complex is located near Westchester Medical Center. Crews say a machine malfunctioned and people saw smoke in the air. No injuries were reported, and the business is back to normal
City of Newburgh police and the owner of a local store are looking to identify a woman seen on surveillance video smashing windows with a baseball bat last Thursday. The owner shared a video of the incident and a photo of the suspect's car in hopes it helps someone recognize the person. The woman is seen walking up to the storefront at 132 South St. and smashing the windows five times as several people and children watched nearby. The suspect appears to have long hair and was wearing a t-shirt, with dark-colored shorts and light-colored sneakers, and was seen driving away in a silver car. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 845-561-3131.
A Newburgh man is facing charges for allegedly having sex with a 14-year-old. Christopher Johnson is charged with felony criminal sexual act and endangering the welfare of a child. He's due back in Town of New Windsor Court for a felony hearing this afternoon.
