Authorities say a 17-year-old boy is dead after he was stabbed in Soundview.
Police identified the victim as Jonathan Melo, who lived just over a mile from where he was attacked.
Officers found Melo with a stab wound to the back in front of 1337 Beach Ave. just after 4:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Police say EMS took the teen to NYC Health and Hospitals/Jacobi, where he died.
It was unclear what led to the attack or if any suspects had been identified.
