Nineteen employees at a Sullivan County plant were
hospitalized over a possible chemical leak on Sunday.
Hazmat response teams from
both Sullivan and Orange counties were called in
to the Newburg Egg processing facility yesterday after receiving reports of two
employees with possible allergic reactions.
The building was evacuated, and 19 staff members were taken to the
hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The cause of the illnesses
is still under investigation.
