A 19-year-old has been arrested in the shooting of a Yonkers teenager, according to Yonkers police.
Police say officers responded to a shots fired report in the area 290 Woodworth Ave. just before 10:30 p.m. last Thursday.
They found a 15-year-old victim with gunshot wounds to the lower body. The teen was brought to the hospital in stable condition.
Investigators say the suspect approached the victim and several others, displayed a gun and then fired three shots at the group. Two of the bullets hit the victim.
The suspect fled the scene but was apprehended Wednesday at a residence in the City of Yonkers.
Joseph Tejera, of Yonkers, was arrested and booked on charges including attempted murder and weapons possession.
The motive for the shooting has not been released.
