A dozen Bronx residents were forced to flee their apartment complex Friday morning after a two-alarm fire broke out inside a vacant building next door.
Fire officials say they received a call at around 8:40 a.m. about a fire that started on the second floor of a four-story building on Bruckner Boulevard. Six ladder trucks and some 45 firefighters were called to the scene to battle the flames.
Part of Bruckner Boulevard was closed for several hours while firefighters worked to contain the blaze. No injuries have been reported.
