Two school districts in the Hudson Valley were among districts across the country that received threats of violence via text message.
In Greenburgh, the police department alerted officials about a threat aimed at Woodlands Middle/High School in Hartsdale.
The school superintendent put a hold in place, which limits the movement inside and outside the building.
Within minutes, the police department found there was no viable threat, and the hold was lifted.
The Hyde Park School District received a Snapchat indicating a threat.
The police chief said the threat did not name a specific school and has been shared many times, making it harder to track back to the original post.
He said they had additional patrol cars near the schools.
