State police: Troopers shoot, kill suspect who shot at them on the Thruway

State police say troopers shot and killed a suspect on the Thruway who opened fire on them.
Police say troopers stopped a vehicle that had been identified in a possible homicide just before 3 p.m. on I-87. The suspect shot at the troopers before they returned fire, according to police.
One trooper sustained minor injuries and the other is unharmed, officials said.
Officials say two lanes are closed on the New York State Thruway in Hillburn between exits 15A and 14.
Albany Police Chief Eric Hawkins: "Albany PD responded to a shooting on Hudson Avenue around 1:00 this afternoon.
