The two men who pleaded guilty to starting the deadly fire at an assisted living facility in Rockland, which claimed the life of volunteer firefighter Jared Lloyd, will learn their fate on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, friends, family, and first responders honored the heroic fallen Spring Valley firefighter by naming a street after him on Monday. The renaming of West Street to Jared Lloyd Way is to remember the firefighter's bravery and legacy.
The 35-year-old died as he helped rescue all but one resident from a massive fire that engulfed the Evergreen Court Home for Adults in Spring Valley in March 2021. Lloyd’s mother expressed her gratitude for the support. "They'll remember the sacrifice that Jared made for 16 years saving people's lives, risking his life to save others, so I'm grateful," says Sabrail Davenport.
