Two Queens men are now facing criminal charges for stealing wallets and cellphones from shoppers at local Trader Joe's stores, authorities say.
Police in Darien, Connecticut, say a detective following a string of complaints camped outside a Trader Joe's store and saw the two suspects pretend to shop and look in a woman's purse.
After trying to flee from police, both Jose Acuna-Penagos and Johan Barrera-Munoz were arrested.
Police say they found the victim's phone and others stolen from Trader Joe's stores in Mamaroneck and Scarsdale.
Both are due back in court on Feb. 21.
