The Sullivan County Department of Public Health is offering a free rabies clinic next Thursday.

It will take place in Fremont because the department says a rabid raccoon was recently found there.

They say it attacked a dog. A homeowner reported it.

The Health Department just sent a second dead raccoon for testing on Thursday because it was spotted acting strangely.

With two possible rabies cases, the department wants to make sure people know to not touch wild animals - even with the baby animals coming out since it's spring.

People who think they were exposed are asked to call the Health Department. Officials are also reminding pet owners to make sure to get them vaccinated and boosted.
The clinic on Thursday is for dogs, cats and ferrets.

There is no need to pre-register. All appointments are first-come, first-served basis.
