Yonkers to honor fallen detective with restored 1992 police car

A restored 1992 Chevy Caprice police car will be at ceremonial events and parades in his honor - marking the detective’s early years of service in Yonkers and New York City.

The Yonkers Police Department is remembering one of their own in a unique way.


Detective Sgt. Frank Gualdino, 53, was killed on the job on Dec 1. when police say a 16-year-old driver lost control of his car and hit his unmarked police vehicle.

Now, a restored 1992 Chevy Caprice police car will be at ceremonial events and parades in his honor - marking the detective’s early years of service in Yonkers and New York City.
