Police: Monroe man faces charges following altercation with ex's current boyfriend

Police say 30-year-old John Luke Popadopoulos allegedly forced his way into a house on Lake Street and was involved in a physical altercation with his ex-girlfriend's current boyfriend.

A Monroe man faces charges, including burglary, assault and criminal possession of a weapon, following an incident Wednesday night.

Police say 30-year-old John Luke Popadopoulos allegedly forced his way into a house on Lake Street and was involved in a physical altercation with his ex-girlfriend's current boyfriend.  

Authorities say Popadopoulos attacked the 28-year-old man with a knife, causing lacerations to his neck and chest.

The victim is said to be listed in stable condition at Westchester Medical Center.

Popadopoulos was arraigned in Middletown City Court and sent to the Orange County Jail on $7,500 cash bail.
