Yorktown's Town Board has requested that President Joe Biden issue a disaster declaration following a severe storm earlier this month.

Yorktown's Town Board has requested that President Joe Biden issue a disaster declaration following a severe storm earlier this month.

The board adopted a resolution looking for access to federal funds to help Yorktown and its residents recover from the storm that caused major flooding from more than 6 inches of rain.

City officials estimate that the storm caused over $2 million worth of damage.

The president has not yet responded to this request.
